The role requires strong payroll knowledge, hourly timekeeping experience in a manufacturing setting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Payroll processing experience, preferably for up to 300 employees.
  • Experience with ADP or similar payroll software; ADP preferred.
  • Experience with hourly timekeeping in manufacturing.
  • Strong payroll documentation, reporting, deductions, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for up to 300 employees using ADP.
  • Manage hourly time tracking for manufacturing employees.
  • Review timecards and payroll data for accuracy before processing.
  • Prepare payroll reports and maintain employee records.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits, benefits, and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
  • Support additional payroll/HR/administrative projects.

Payroll Specialist Location: Sherwood, OR Salary: $70,000–$75,000 DOE Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Who We Are:

We are partnering with a local manufacturing company that has been engineering, fabricating, and building equipment for the farming and logging industries for more than 50 years. Proudly manufacturing its products in the United States, this company manages the entire process in-house—from CNC machining and welding to fabrication and final assembly.

What You'll Do:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for up to 300 employees using ADP.
  • Manage hourly time tracking for manufacturing employees.
  • Review timecards, hours, absences, and payroll information for accuracy prior to processing.
  • Track and report employee absences and incidents.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, timekeeping, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
  • Generate reports and provide documentation for payroll and HR audits.
  • Prepare workers' compensation payroll reports and participate in audits as required.
  • Assist with workers' compensation documentation and claims.
  • Support monthly benefit billing and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee information and reporting.
  • Provide payroll and employee data needed for compliance reporting.
  • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues quickly and accurately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information.
  • Assist with additional payroll, HR, and administrative projects as needed.

What You Need to Have:
  • Strong previous payroll processing experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for a larger employee population; this role supports up to 300 employees.
  • Experience with ADP or similar payroll software; ADP is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hourly employee timekeeping, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or another industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll documentation, reporting, deductions, and reconciliations.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and employee-service skills.
