Burnett Specialists Staffing | Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll/HR Administrative Assistant to support a busy HR team. The role focuses on payroll administration for about 250 employees across locations, HR records, benefits, and reporting.
You will process payroll, maintain tax and direct deposit information, enter hours and earnings, and assist with year-end activities; also handle benefits changes and HR data entry in Workday.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll/HR Administrative Assistant to support a busy Human Resources team. This role is ideal for someone with payroll processing and HR administrative experience who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and supporting employees.
The successful candidate will be responsible for payroll administration for approximately 250 employees across multiple locations and pay groups, while also providing support with benefits, HR records, reporting, and general administrative functions.
Process payroll accurately and on schedule
Enter and audit hours, earnings, deductions, and payroll transactions
Maintain employee tax and direct deposit information
Review timecards and payroll data for accuracy
Process payroll corrections and resolve payroll-related issues
Complete payroll funding and general ledger reporting
Assist with year-end payroll activities
Support payroll-related reporting and special projects
Develop expertise in Workday Payroll
Process employee benefit changes, additions, and deletions
Track benefit invoices and retroactive payments
Respond to employee questions and assist with issue resolution
Support FMLA and state leave tracking
Enter new-hire, job, and compensation information into Workday
Maintain confidential personnel and benefits records
Process HR invoices and assist with HR administrative projects
Support employee communications and HR programs
Prepare regulatory and HR reports
Maintain payroll and workforce tracking reports
Prepare attendance, absenteeism, and workforce reports
Ensure information is accurate, complete, and maintained confidentially
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous payroll processing experience required
Experience with Workday or another HRIS required
Previous HR administrative experience preferred
Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred
Experience with multi-state payroll preferred
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Positive, team-oriented attitude
Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
