Job summary

CANiK in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Payroll/HR Coordinator to support payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR recordkeeping in a fast-paced, 24-hour manufacturing environment.

You will serve as a primary contact for hourly staff on timeclock and HR questions, coordinate new hires and changes, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws while partnering with the Director of Finance on payroll submission.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on payroll processing experience required, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or other high-volume hourly workforce environment.
  • Prior HR Coordinator or HR administrative experience supporting onboarding, office processes, employee questions, and general HR administration required.
  • Experience supporting payroll in a multi-shift or 24-hour operation strongly preferred.
  • Dayforce experience is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare weekly payroll for submission by reviewing employee data, hours worked, missed punches, deductions, garnishments, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain payroll records, garnishments, deductions, and payroll-related files in accordance with company policy and law.
  • Coordinate payroll-related changes including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, transfers, status changes, and leave-related updates under HR oversight.
  • Assist hourly employees across a 24-hour operation with timeclock corrections, payroll questions, pay discrepancies, attendance coding, and related follow-up, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Audit timeclock and payroll data for accuracy and completeness before final review and submission by the Director of Finance.
  • Partner with supervisors and department leaders to resolve timekeeping discrepancies, missed punches, approvals, and employee record updates in a timely manner.
  • Support administration of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
  • Direct all employee relations matters to the Human Resources Generalist
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, qualifying life events, and general benefit questions.
  • Support annual open enrollment preparation, communications, and data entry.
  • Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HRIS data.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ACA, EEO, and OSHA.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance documentation as required.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes including new hire documentation, orientation coordination, system access, and related employee communication.
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries related to onboarding, office processes, HR procedures, and general HR policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related matters.
