Job summary

PJ Dick-Trumbull-The Lindy Group seeks a Payroll Specialist to join the North Shore corporate headquarters accounting team. The role focuses on payroll processing, accuracy, and ensuring regulatory compliance, with on-going collaboration across the finance group.

You'll support onboarding data, run confidential payrolls, respond to employee inquiries, and help optimize payroll processes with external consultants. Non-exempt under FLSA; great benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years payroll experience.
• Experience with CMiC and/or ADP Tax Compliance is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, support and review recurring payroll processes for completeness and accuracy.
• Review new employee information in the accounting software from onboarding; improve processes as needed.
• Handle confidential payrolls; train backups as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations; set up and filings.
• Reconcile general ledger payroll accounts for quarterly statements.
• Coordinate special reports with external consultants to improve payroll processes; train on best practices.
• Respond to employees' questions and resolve pay stub issues.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor guidance.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate, support and review recurring payroll and related processes for completeness and accuracy.
• Review new employee information loaded into the accounting software from the on-boarding systems for accuracy; makes edit and improvements to the processes as needed
• Processes certain confidential payrolls; train on all confidential payrolls in case back up is needed
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory rulings impacting payroll through actual set-up and filings
• Reconcile general ledger payroll accounts as part of quarterly financial statement preparation
• Prepare and/or coordinate the execution of special reports with external consultants to improve payroll processes; then train on related best practices
• Respond to employees' questions; resolving issues including pay stub access and related issues
• Perform additional assignments per direction of supervisor(s)

What You Bring

Educational and experience requirements include: High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years payroll experience. Prior work with construction firm, CMiC and/or ADP Tax Compliance a plus. Good written and verbal communication skills essential. Excellent skills using MS Excel and Word.
