The Workday Payroll/Payroll Tax Partner is responsible for the accurate and timely payroll processing and assisting with all aspects of North America in-house payroll tax compliance (federal, state, and local tax) and ensuring enforcement of corporate payroll policies. This role will also provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and oversee relationships with external payroll processing and payroll tax consultants.
Must have at least 4 years of Workday Payroll Processing experience, including Payroll Tax Processing. Prior experience with Workday HCM alone or Workday HCM combined with ADP Payroll is not sufficient.
• Strong experience in payroll tax processing is essential.
• Ability to start immediately is preferred.

• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience specifically with Workday Payroll.
• Over 6 years of progressive payroll-related experience.
• Minimum 4 years of multi-state and local payroll tax experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment.
• Capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience with Workday preferred.
• Experience with OSV or ADP SmartCompliance required.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational and workload planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
What will your typical day look like?
• Support and process payroll across multiple entities in the US and Canada.
• Validate payroll data in Workday, including changes, hours, and earnings, and calculate retro adjustments.
• Audit imported payroll data and ensure accuracy before approval.
• Update payroll records for relocations, stock, personal auto use, and gross-ups.
• Reconcile daily tax and wage submissions to OSV/ADP and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile wages and taxes monthly, quarterly, and annually between Workday and OSV/ADP.
• Ensure accurate tax filings, amendments, and reporting, including W-2s and W-2c’s.
• Coordinate with payroll processing teams and external vendors for tax setup, calculation, reporting, and payment.
• Collaborate internally and externally to resolve payroll issues.
• Develop and maintain internal controls related to payroll and tax compliance.
• Maintain process documentation and SOPs.
• Provide reports for audits and assist with special projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
