Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees across multiple Chubby Group locations.
  • Review employee timecards, attendance records, overtime, tips, and paid time off to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee compensation data while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Assist with new hire payroll setup, employee status changes, and final pay processing.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding wages, deductions, taxes, direct deposits, and pay statements.
  • Coordinate with HR and Operations to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate employee information.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and labor regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports and maintain payroll documentation using payroll software and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end payroll processes as needed.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy.

Position Overview

We are seeking for a Payroll Specialist who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about payroll accuracy and compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for employees across multiple restaurant locations, maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations, and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.

You will work closely with Human Resources, Operations, and Finance to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with company policies.

Employment Details

Hiring Entity: Chubby Group

Work Location: Hybrid/Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: Annual Salary: $50,000 – $70,000 (based on experience and qualifications), subject to applicable federal, state, and local tax withholding. Additional performance-based bonuses may apply.

Start Date: Upon onboarding completion, all required pre-employment notices and documents will be provided at or before the start date, as required by law.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Skills

Previous experience in payroll, accounting, finance, human resources, or administrative support preferred.

Familiarity with payroll software such as Gusto, ADP, Paychex, or similar payroll systems is a plus.

Understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, overtime calculations, and labor compliance is preferred.

Experience supporting multi-location or hospitality operations is a plus.

Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin are a plus.
