Job summary

Brite Nites in Salt Lake City is hiring a seasonal Payroll & HR Specialist to support our Finance and HR team from our Salt Lake City office. You'll make sure employees are paid on time, accurately, and in compliance with state and federal rules.

This is a full-time hourly role running September 2026 through January 2027. You'll own bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly staff, review time cards, reconcile wages and deductions, maintain records, and assist the senior accountant as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years payroll processing experience.
• Strong communication and organization; able to meet tight deadlines.
• Excel proficiency and overall computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, HR, or related field preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Own the accuracy and timeliness of bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
• Review time cards; compute and reconcile wages, overtime, and other pay.
• Maintain employee records in line with state and federal law.
• Post, update, and reconcile payroll deductions (garnishments, tax levies, child support).
• Resolve payroll questions professionally and assist the senior accountant as needed.

What you bring

• 1-3 years processing payroll

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Business, HR, or a related field preferred, not required

Pay: $18-20/hr, DOE.

The pay range for this role is:

18 - 20 USD per hour (Salt Lake City (HQ))
