Job summary

Brite Nites in Salt Lake City is seeking a seasonal Payroll & HR Specialist to support our Finance and HR team from the Salt Lake City office. You will ensure timely, accurate payroll and maintain HR records in compliance with state and federal laws for a Sept 2026–Jan 2027 assignment.

The role requires 1–3 years payroll experience, strong Excel skills, discretion with sensitive information, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business, or HR preferred. Pay is $18–$20/hr DOE.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years processing payroll.
• Strong communication and organization; able to meet tight deadlines.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Bachelor's in Accounting, Business, HR, or a related field preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Own the accuracy and timeliness of bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
• Review time cards; compute and reconcile wages, overtime, and other pay.
• Maintain employee records in line with state and federal law.
• Post, update, and reconcile payroll deductions (garnishments, tax levies, child support).
• Resolve payroll questions professionally and step in to help the senior accountant as needed.
