Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll, accounting or related experience preferred.
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-state or construction environment is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process HeavyJob timecards and overtime, including HeavyJob Overtime Tool.
  • Prepare HeavyJob export spreadsheets and payroll-related reports.
  • Payroll reporting for project-specific needs and company compliance.
  • Finalize UltiPro payroll, resolve payroll exceptions, maintain employee data.
  • Prepare job cost import spreadsheets and manage union information.
  • Process monthly union fringes and related reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll records and assist with inquiries.

Meyer Contracting is seeking a qualified applicant for a Payroll Specialist position on our team.

Team Meyer is a civil/sitework contractor based out of Maple Grove, MN who performs Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, Concrete Structures and Foundations operations primarily in the greater Midwest area. Meyer is unique in that we work in both the public and private commercial civil markets. Employees here gain broad and valuable experience in both markets.   • Review and process HeavyJob timecards and overtime, including use of the HeavyJob Overtime Tool. Review and process overtime using the HeavyJob Overtime Tool.
  • Prepare HeavyJob export spreadsheets, mechanic time exports and other payroll-related reports.
  • Payroll related reporting for both project specific requirements and company compliance.
  • Finalize UltiPro payroll, review and resolve payroll exceptions, and maintain accurate employee information.
  • Prepare UltiPro job cost import spreadsheets, transfer employees and maintain union information and job locations.
  • Process monthly union fringes and checks, including related reporting and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain AASHTOware/MNDOT Excel spreadsheets and complete LCPCertified reporting.
  • Review and process employee reimbursements and other payroll-related adjustments.
  • Assist employees and internal departments with payroll questions and research and resolve payroll or job cost discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure payroll information is processed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and other sensitive information.
  • Manage company credit card program.
  • Assist Accounting Manager and Project Accountant with invoice entry, payment processing, and various accounting tasks
Candidate Profile
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and detailed financial information
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, research information and determine appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain discretion
  • Experience with UltiPro/UKG, HeavyJob or Viewpoint/Spectrum is a plus
  • Construction industry and/or union payroll experience is preferred
Job Qualifications
  • 2+ years of payroll, accounting or related experience preferred
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-state or construction environment is a plus
  • Experience with union payroll, fringes and reporting preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy while working with high volumes of information

The salary range offered is $60K - $70K along with benefits which include medical, dental, paid time off, paid holidays, and retirement plan (401k) with company employer contribution.
