FIS, LLC - Freed Industrial Services is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our Bethlehem, PA area operations. The role supports the Payroll Manager with weekly payroll processing, timecard review, and multi-state/state-specific union deductions under various CBAs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience preferred.
• Experience processing weekly payroll strongly preferred.
• Experience with union payroll and/or construction payroll preferred.
• Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements, union deductions, and benefit contributions.
• Working knowledge of federal and state payroll requirements.
• Experience with multi-state payroll is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to meet strict weekly payroll deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with payroll software or an HRIS/payroll system.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Payroll Manager with the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll.
• Review and verify employee timecards, hours, overtime, PTO, deductions, and other payroll-related information.
• Process payroll for employees working under various union collective bargaining agreements.
• Assist with the administration of union dues, benefit deductions, and other contractual payroll requirements.
• Review payroll records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with multi-state payroll requirements for California, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation.
• Assist with payroll-related reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
• Prepare and submit required union and payroll reports.
• Assist with certified payroll and/or prevailing wage reporting as applicable.
• Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, timekeeping, and payroll policies.
• Work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, Project Management, and field personnel to resolve payroll issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information.
• Stay current on applicable payroll regulations, union requirements, and company policies.
• Provide general administrative support to the Payroll Manager as needed.

Payroll Specialist

About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our team and support our Payroll Manager with the processing and administration of weekly payroll.

As a union electrical contractor operating in California, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, we manage payroll for employees working under multiple collective bargaining agreements and across different state requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with confidential information.
