Payroll Specialist

Payroll Processing and Data Accuracy: The PayrollSpecialist is responsible for accurately and timely processing employee payrolldisbursements using ADP Workforce Now and Workforce Manager. This includesmaintaining the accuracy of the payroll database and reviewing weekly timecardsfor completeness and accuracy.
Deductions, Withholdings, and Supplemental Pay: This role processes alldeductions and withholdings in accordance with employee elections andapplicable government regulations. The Payroll Specialist also processestraining pay, commissions, and bonus payroll as directed by management.
Reporting and Support: The Payroll Specialist prepares various reportsand regulatory forms and provides support to employees and management onpayroll-related matters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Payroll Data Management: Enter, maintain,and process payroll information with strict attention to detail and accuracy,including hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, other compensation,hours worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, withholdings, address changes,and other employee payroll data.
- Payroll Deductions and Payments: Ensureaccurate end-to-end processing of multi-state payroll deductions, includingtaxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions. Issue orreissue physical checks, replacement checks, or direct deposits related topayroll corrections or final discharge payments.
- Compliance and Employee Records: Maintaincompliance with federal and state record keeping requirements, including I-9,E-Verify, electronic personnel files in Document Cloud, unemployment claims,statutory state reporting forms, Work Opportunity Tax Credit reporting, andDepartment of Labor forms.
- Employee Changes in ADP: Process newhires, transfers, terminations, and personnel changes in ADP accurately andtimely.
- Issue Resolution and Communication: Research and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies, and communicateeffectively with employees, managers, supervisors, and ADP support personnel.
- Timecard Review and Payroll Readiness: Review weekly employee timecards for accuracy and completeness. Verify hoursworked, overtime, paid time off, and attendance records. Identify and correctdiscrepancies before payroll processing, coordinate with supervisors andemployees to resolve timekeeping issues, maintain accurate records, and meetweekly payroll deadlines.
- Punch Corrections: Ensure required backupis received for all punch corrections and assist with corrections as needed.
- Employee Support: Handle employee phonecalls regarding PTO, insurance, paychecks, and deductions. Answer questionsabout navigating ADP time management software.
- Payroll System Troubleshooting: Createand manage cases as needed to troubleshoot payroll software issues.
- Work Environment and Team Support: Workindependently and collaboratively with minimal supervision in a high-volume,demanding, deadline-oriented environment. Assist team members as workflowdemands and provide coverage for human resource specialist duties or regionalpayroll processing during vacations and periods of increased workload.
- Reporting: Create ad-hoc payroll reportsas needed.

Qualifications
- Minimumof 3–5 years of experience managing high-volume, multistate payroll.
- Proficient with Microsoft OfficeSuite or related software.
- Strongorganizational skills and attention to detail.
- Mustmeet the legal age requirements to work in the applicable state, city, or town.
- Englishlanguage proficiency required to support effective communication and customerservice.
- Mustbe punctual and maintain reliable time and attendance.
- Demonstratehonesty, integrity, and respect when interacting with customers, coworkers,vendors, and supervisors.
