Ledgent-Finance- is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Baltimore team. You will process payroll, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate records across multiple pay cycles.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of payroll experience, proficiency with Excel and HRIS, and strong confidentiality and communication skills. CPP is a plus, with competitive benefits and career growth potential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience required.
• Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• CPP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees.
• Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records and employee data in payroll systems.
• Process payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and commissions.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end reporting activities.
• Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams regarding employee changes and payroll updates.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing.
