Job summary

ExED in Southern California seeks a Payroll and Retirement Associate to join a 16-person payroll team and apply payroll expertise for charter schools. You will manage data, ensure accurate processing, and support client schools with questions.

Responsibilities include enrollment in CalSTRS/CalPERS, garnishments, retirement reports,.tax filings, and coordinating with accounting. A strong communicator and organizer will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3-5 years of payroll processing experience.
• Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong writing and communication skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Upload or key data, review, and process payroll for client schools.
• Maintain accurate and current data in the payroll system and files.
• Determine eligibility and enrollment into CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement plans.
• Set up and process garnishment orders; provide excellent customer service.
• Submit monthly CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement reports; knowledge of payroll tax filings.
