Job summary

Hanover Iron Works Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee weekly payroll for office and field staff in a timely and accurate manner. The role includes supervising payroll staff and coordinating with HR and Accounting.

You'll implement and maintain payroll systems, manage updates for new hires, terminations, and rate changes, and ensure compliance with taxes and benefits. This position requires an Associate's degree in accounting and 3+ years of payroll experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3+ years of related experience. Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supports payroll staff.
• Implements and maintains payroll systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, 401k, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensures accurate, timely payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay-rate changes.
• Processes weekly payroll for office and field staff.
• Provides support to Human Resources as needed.
• Processes weekly employee expense reimbursements.
• Files payroll taxes weekly, quarterly, and year-end; processes W-2 forms.
• Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Assists the Accounting Department as needed.
• Downloads and uploads weekly data for health and dental insurance.
• Processes company credit card transactions.
