Job summary

Salson Logistics is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting employees and management. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee a team of 4-7 payroll professionals and partner with Finance and HR to drive efficiency and regulatory adherence.

Based in Newark, New Jersey, the role requires strong payroll knowledge, excellent communication, and a track record of improving payroll processes in a fast-paced 3PL environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll management or payroll leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, compliance requirements, and payroll best practices.
• Experience managing weekly payroll cycles in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Supervise, mentor, and support a payroll team of 4-7 employees.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, and related documentation.
• Prepare payroll reports, audits, reconciliations, and compliance-related documentation.
• Administer payroll-related benefit deductions and collaborate with benefits providers as needed.
• Partner with Finance and Human Resources to streamline payroll processes and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency through automation and process enhancements.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and provide exceptional support to employees and management.
