Job summary

The Management Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to own and optimize our semi-monthly payroll operations. You will independently manage full-cycle payroll and act as the go-to resource for employees and managers.

You will oversee ADP Workforce Now, ensure compliance across federal, state, and local regulations, and collaborate with HR and Accounting. Supervisory duties of Payroll Assistant staff are included.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll and/or benefits experience.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing full-cycle payroll.
• Experience supporting payroll populations of 200+ employees preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes, compliance, and reconciliations.
• Experience working with multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities

• Own and process semi-monthly payroll through ADP Workforce Now.
• Manage employee changes, time-keeping discrepancies, payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and off-cycle payroll.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Respond to employee and manager payroll questions.
• Complete payroll, benefit, 401(k), Workers’ Compensation, and month-end reconciliations.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll-related billbacks.
• Manage payroll calendars, deadlines, documentation, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve payroll operations.
• Partner closely with Human Resources and Accounting.
• Supervise and support Payroll Assistant staff.
