Job summary

Life Unlimited, Inc. in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead weekly payroll, ensuring accurate payments and compliance with FLSA, FMLA, IRS, and state laws.

You will oversee a payroll team, work closely with HR and Finance, and drive process improvements. The role requires at least five years of high-volume payroll experience, strong Excel/HRIS skills, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of payroll experience.
• Experience processing high-volume payroll.
• Strong knowledge of payroll administration, wage and hour laws, taxes, garnishments, and leave administration.
• Experience with overtime, shift differentials, holidays, incentives, and other variable pay.
• High accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll/HRIS software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise weekly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages.
• Direct and support Payroll staff with leadership, coaching, training, and workload prioritization.
• Review payroll for accuracy including overtime, leave balances, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, IRS regulations, and state payroll requirements.
• Administer payroll tax reporting, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
• Reconcile payroll registers and related accounts with Finance.
• Coordinate payroll activities for new hires, promotions, transfers, and separations.
• Provide training on payroll policies and timekeeping procedures to managers and employees.
• Monitor timekeeping system and resolve discrepancies with managers.
