Job summary

The ideal candidate will maintain employee records, process payroll on a timely basis, handle tax filings, W-2s, and year-end reporting, while upholding compliance and privacy standards in a collaborative district office environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise payroll personnel and oversee the entire payroll function.
• Train new employees in the payroll department.
• Evaluate payroll personnel annually.
• Assist CFO and Director of Business in interviewing and hiring payroll staff.
• Record absences, hours worked, and payroll deductions.
• Update payroll records including W-4, WH-4, annuities, and benefits.
• Process payroll and transmit federal/state taxes; mail checks as needed.
• Prepare payroll reports for Directors and accounts staff.
• Report W-2 information and year-end payroll data.
• Maintain payroll files and respond to inquiries.
