Job summary

Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Support professional to ensure accurate, timely processing and robust analytical reporting for payroll and instructor compensation. You will develop reports and dashboards, monitor metrics, resolve employee questions, and help optimize payroll workflows while upholding confidentiality.

You will collaborate with payroll, HR, and operations teams to collect data, verify records, and ensure policy compliance, supporting Delta’s trusted pay processes.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written procedures, checklists, calendars, and approval requirements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Ability to organize documents and data while meeting recurring deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, research routine questions, and elevate issues appropriately.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement with sensitive employee information.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate with payroll, human resources, operations, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, organizing, and reviewing timekeeping and payroll information before scheduled processing deadlines
• Check employee records, time entries, pay rates, deductions, and supporting documentation for completeness and obvious discrepancies
• Enter and update approved payroll information in company systems according to documented procedures
• Prepare routine payroll reports, audit files, reconciliation support, and processing checklists
• Research routine payroll questions and provide status updates using approved guidance
• Document payroll issues and route items requiring policy interpretation, approval, or correction to payroll leadership
• Follow up with employees, managers, and internal partners to obtain missing or corrected information
• Maintain organized payroll records, reports, approvals, and processing archives in accordance with retention requirements
• Assist with verifying that payroll changes are reflected accurately in reports and employee records
• Protect employee personal, banking, tax, compensation, and payroll information at all times
• Perform other related duties and administrative tasks as assigned
