CRSG is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with NY/NJ federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices and all filing requirements.
- Ensures accuracy of all tax forms as well as W2s.
- Prepares relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Interprets new legislation impacting payroll.
- Manages and resolves issues relating to payroll production.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Researches and resolves payroll issues and responds promptly to all payroll-related questions from employees and managers.
- Ensures compliance with multi-state tax withholdings, 401(k) audits, workers compensation audits, and external financial audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Certified and Union Payroll knowledge is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with ADP payroll software.
- Knowledge of Sage 300 software is preferred.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Three to five years of related experience required.
