Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll administration across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This individual will play a critical role in partnering with HR and Benefits teams, handling complex payroll issues, and providing expert-level guidance to the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute payroll operations using UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payment for employees and agencies.
• Process and maintain payroll changes including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, address updates, and garnishments.
• Respond to complex employee payroll inquiries and resolve sensitive matters with discretion and accuracy.
• Review, verify, and approve payroll reports prior to final submission.
• Process bonus payments, year-end adjustments, and ensure compliance with applicable tax and labor regulations.
• Partner with HR and Benefits to reconcile payroll discrepancies and support cross-functional payroll coordination.
• Address and resolve employee concerns regarding vacation accruals, sick pay, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
• Manage escalated payroll matters involving internal departments or external agencies, including government bodies.
• Maintain an organized and deadline-driven workflow, ensuring all payroll activities are completed within required timelines.
• Provide guidance and support on garnishments, levies, and payroll policies to the broader payroll or HR teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
• Proven experience managing payroll for multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
• Hands-on experience with UltiPro (UKG Pro) payroll system is required.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and payroll accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is preferred.
• Experience with IBM Cognos reporting tools is a plus.
