Job summary

Aprio Talent Solutions partners with a Washington, D.C. organization to hire a Payroll Manager who will lead centralized payroll operations across four institutions.

You will oversee end-to-end payroll for 500+ employees, serve as Paylocity administrator, handle tax filings and audits, and collaborate with HR and Finance to modernize payroll processes in a hybrid, Washington, D.C.-based setting. Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll administration experience.
• Multi-state payroll processing for 500+ employees.
• Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with 941 reconciliations, payroll tax filings, and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll for 500+ regular, temporary, and seasonal employees across multiple institutions and states.
• Serve as primary Paylocity system administrator — processing, reporting, and system management.
• Prepare payroll tax filings, 941 reconciliations, W-2s, and audit support.
• Coordinate garnishments, direct deposits, retirement contributions, and benefit deductions.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and institutional leaders across a shared services model.
• Identify opportunities to modernize processes, strengthen controls, and improve service delivery.
