The position is hybrid and requires regular commuting to the Washington, DC office, collaboration with HR on data and changes, and the ability to resolve complex issues with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; significant payroll experience may be considered
• 7+ years of progressively responsible payroll experience
• Experience managing multi-state payroll and tax filings
• ADP experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Independently manage end-to-end payroll cycle for ~260 employees
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing and off-cycle payments
• Reconcile payroll to general ledger and funding reports
• Prepare payroll journal entries and monthly reconciliations
• Oversee payroll tax compliance across multiple states/localities
• Manage payroll system configurations and vendor relationships
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation
