Job summary

Medavie is seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team. You will maintain the payroll system, ensure compliance with government regulations, and support our safe and patient-focused workplace.

You will handle bi-weekly payroll processing, employee inquiries, HRIS data changes, and year-end tasks such as T4s and pension audits. Strong Excel and HRIS skills with attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in accounting preferred.
• CPA PCP certification required.
• 2-5 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Excellent Excel skills; proficiency in Word and HRIS.

Responsibilities

• Payroll processing: verify, audit, and enter confidential payroll data for bi-weekly periods.
• Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and management.
• Process employee changes in HRIS including hires, terminations, status changes, transfers, and rate changes.
• Check and code payroll data according to union agreements and company policies.
• Prepare and issue reports and payments for earnings, taxes, deductions, and benefits.
• Balance and issue T4s; conduct pension audits; handle provincial WCB/WSIB reporting.
• Manage annual vacation entitlements, benefits, and pension administration.
