About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll+HR Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will primarily support our clients' payroll operations, ensuring accurate and compliant processing of employee payments. Additionally, you will assist with various human resources functions, including drafting HR documents, developing training materials, and learning about employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with clients and team members remotely. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to work from your home office while contributing to a dynamic team that supports small businesses across the country.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in preparing and processing employee payrolls, with a deep understanding of payroll practices and federal payroll rules and regulations.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to various payroll and HR technology platforms quickly.
  • Experience in drafting payroll-related documentation, such as processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with creating HR documents, including employee handbooks and job descriptions.
  • Experience in developing management and employee training materials.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Comfortable working remotely with the flexibility to participate in occasional in-person meetings if needed.
  • Preferred locations include Central Florida or Northern Virginia; must be based in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and managing employee payrolls accurately and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Providing support and guidance on payroll-related questions from clients and employees.
  • Drafting and updating payroll processes, procedures, and documentation to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Assisting with the development and review of HR policies, employee handbooks, and job descriptions.
  • Creating and delivering management and employee training materials related to payroll and HR topics.
  • Implementing and supporting payroll platform integrations and upgrades.
  • Staying informed about federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations affecting payroll and HR functions.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and acting with integrity in handling sensitive employee and client information.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and team members to ensure smooth payroll and HR operations.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
