Job summary

Vaco is partnering with a well-established organization in Tempe to hire an HR Generalist focused on payroll and HR operations. The role is 100% onsite in Tempe, AZ, with a pay range of $65,000–$70,000 annually.

You will handle payroll processing, provide HR guidance, and support lifecycle events from hiring through separations. Responsibilities include benefits support, leave tracking, HRIS maintenance, and collaboration with HR leadership on policy and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Human Resources experience across multiple HR areas
• 2+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll activities including timekeeping review, employee updates, deductions, reporting, and final payroll processing.
• Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for employees and managers, providing timely support on HR processes and workplace questions.
• Coordinate hiring, onboarding, employee changes, and separations.
• Support benefits administration, leave tracking, HRIS records maintenance.
• Partner with local management on employee relations matters, policy implementation, compliance, and process improvements.
