The City of St. Pete Beach is seeking a Finance Technician - Payroll & Human Resources Support to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for all city employees and provide essential HR administrative support.

This role bridges Finance and Human Resources, handling employee lifecycle transactions, payroll compliance, confidential recordkeeping, and routine reporting in accordance with city policies and federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll, accounting support, or HR administration.
• Proficiency with NEOGOV is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for all City employees, ensuring accurate time entry and deductions.
• Maintain payroll records and confidential HR files in accordance with law and policy.
• Coordinate payroll changes for new hires, promotions, separations, and benefits with HR.
• Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance activities.
