City of Lakeland seeks a skilled payroll professional to manage and optimize automated payroll operations, ensure accurate data analysis, and support regulatory compliance. You will handle biweekly and pension payrolls, perform detailed reconciliations, and coordinate electronic file transmissions with multiple internal teams.

The role requires confidentiality, precision, and strong knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems; prior experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma from an accredited school or a GED.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience working in an automated payroll system.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Payroll Certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Analyzes payroll data for accuracy and compliance.
• Audits and verifies data across Timekeepers, Benefits, Risk Management, Retirement Services, and HR staff.
• Processes biweekly and pension payrolls and transmits related files.
• Maintains payroll records and prepares regulatory reports.
• Communicates with departments to ensure payroll deadlines and procedures.
