Job summary

The City of Clearwater seeks a Payroll Technician I to support the Solid Waste & Recycling Department. Under supervision, you will handle payroll records, data entry, and related personnel information.

You will verify forms for hires, promotions, and terminations, and ensure accurate salary updates and reimbursements. The role requires strong clerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus two years of progressively responsible clerical experience.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and processes forms for new hires, transfers, promotions, layoffs, resignations, suspensions, and dismissals.
• Enters, submits, and updates personnel records; tracks evaluations and personnel actions.
• Audits timesheets, processes salary changes, and ensures reimbursements are recorded.
• Distributes notifications for performance reviews and updates payroll accordingly.
• Maintains training records and generates monthly training reports.
