Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is seeking a Payroll and Grants Administrator to manage full-cycle payroll using ADP Vantage and to ensure grant-related labor allocations are accurate and compliant. The role reports to the Controller and collaborates with Grants and Contracts staff to support reporting and audits.

This full-time, salaried position requires a Bachelor’s in a related field with several years of payroll and grant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR or related field; five years payroll experience.
• Experience with audits, payroll reporting, grant-funded labor allocation, and payroll systems.
• CPP designation is preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee all payroll operations with accurate, on-time processing.
• Review timekeeping for accuracy and compliance; coordinate corrections with supervisors.
• Process payroll adjustments, manual checks, direct deposits, and deductions.
• Serve as primary resource for payroll questions and issues; resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll system data integrity and user access; run payroll reports.
• Oversee grant-related labor tracking and ensure proper grant allocations.
• Coordinate payroll compliance activities and support audits.
• Develop and improve payroll policies, controls, and workflows.
• Provide payroll support and customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
• Coordinate with external payroll providers to resolve issues.
