Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters in Missouri is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our HR team. This full-time role requires high integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Starting pay is $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on education and experience. Responsibilities include weekly payroll processing, employee changes, terminations, vacation payouts, and payroll reporting for locations, auditors, and government agencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with a minimum of two year's payroll processing experience.
• ADP Vantage experience is a plus, but not required.
• Detail oriented, provide excellent customer service, great organizational skills, strong computer skills, ability to work and think independently.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll and related items, including employee changes in location, position, labor distribution, and pay.
• Process employee terminations, calculate vacation payouts, and enter those payouts into a pay data batch.
• Create and process payroll reports for locations, auditors, and governmental agencies.
• Handle employment verifications, child support orders, and garnishments.
• Provide payroll training to the field for supervisors and employees.

Payroll Specialist

The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist for an opening on our HR team. The right candidate will be someone who is very detail-oriented, possesses a high level of integrity, and is able to handle very confidential information. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position with a starting pay between $20.00 and $23.00 an hour depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the weekly processing of payroll and related items. This includes, but is not limited to, employee changes in location, position, labor distribution, and pay. This position will process employee terminations, calculate vacation payouts, and enter those payouts into a pay data batch. It will create and process payroll reports, as needed, for our locations, auditors, and governmental agencies. It also handles the employment verifications, child support orders, and garnishments. It enters special payroll information into the appropriate pay data batches. It provides payroll training to the field for supervisors and employees.

Qualifications & Skills

Education and experience required: High School Diploma with a minimum of two year's payroll processing experience.

ADP Vantage experience is a plus, but not required.

Skills/Abilities needed: Detail oriented, provide excellent customer service, great organizational skills, strong computer skills, ability to work and think independently. Position does not supervise other staff.
