Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is seeking a Payroll and Grants Administrator to manage all payroll operations, timekeeping, and grant labor allocation. You will ensure accurate compensation, maintain data integrity, and support audits while collaborating with the Controller and Grants Compliance Manager.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of payroll experience, with CPP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field with five years payroll experience.
• Experience with payroll, timekeeping, grant allocation, and audits.
• CPP designation preferred; strong integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee all payroll operations in compliance with all requirements.
• Review and validate timekeeping records for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Process payroll adjustments, manual checks, and deductions.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and system issues with supervisors and employees.
• Maintain payroll system data integrity and user access controls.
• Generate payroll reports and distribute them to stakeholders.
• Oversee grant-related labor tracking and ensure proper charging of salaries.
• Support audits and prepare payroll-related documentation and reconciliations.
• Develop and improve payroll policies, procedures, and controls.
• Provide payroll training and customer service to employees and managers.
• Coordinate with external payroll providers to resolve issues.
• Monitor outstanding payroll items and take corrective actions as needed.
• Respond to employment verification requests and provide data as required.
• Serve as payroll subject matter expert to support business continuity.
