SM Staffing in New York is seeking an experienced Payroll Director to lead payroll operations for 800+ employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws. You will manage payroll systems, drive process improvements, and partner with HR and Finance on data accuracy and reporting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 3 years of payroll experience (nonprofit or healthcare a plus), and strong analytical and communication skills.

• Minimum 3 years of payroll experience; nonprofit or healthcare experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades, automation, and reporting improvements.
• Partner with HR and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and employee compensation reporting.
• Provide excellent internal customer service to staŨ regarding payroll inquiries.
