Job summary

Norfolk Southern seeks a Payroll Business Analyst to join the Payroll team in a hybrid Atlanta environment. The role analyzes payroll data, reconciliations, and reporting while supporting system implementations and process improvements across departments.

You will liaise with Accounting and IT, review payroll records and GL reporting, and respond to ad hoc data requests, audits, and access controls. A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• 1–2 years payroll accounting experience.
• 3–5 years payroll accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the design and manages the implementation of new systems or business processes.
• Serves as a liaison between Accounting, Information Technology, and other client departments.
• Reviews day-to-day payroll records, general ledger account reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
• Generates reporting and provides analysis for other departments and external entities.
• Responds to ad hoc inquiries and data requests as well as internal and external audit requests.
• Supports payroll security processes by reviewing, coordinating, and maintaining access controls and user permissions.
• Provides support for routine duties and facilitates supplemental payroll processing.
