Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking an Analyst III Payroll Finance/GL to lead payroll financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities across multiple entities.

You will provide insights to support business decisions, drive internal controls, and partner with payroll, finance, HR and operations. The role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with 3 in-person days at Assonet, MA, and 2 remote days from the Salisbury, NC office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
• 5-7 years of experience in finance, accounting or related field; strong analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Experience with payroll accounting, GL, budgeting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll-related financial accounting activities across entities, including GL accounts, reconciliations, accruals and journal entries.
• Prepare and analyze payroll financial results (month-/quarter-/year-end) and identify variances to support decisions.
• Develop budget, forecast, and planning assumptions for payroll and benefits, partnering with stakeholders.
• Perform complex financial and variance analyses to identify drivers and provide actionable recommendations.
• Serve as payroll accounting SME and advise on accounting treatment and system changes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and control effectiveness.
• Design and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and reduce risk.
• Lead accounting and reporting support for organizational initiatives and system enhancements.
• Develop advanced payroll/finance analytics to deliver insights for strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with payroll, finance, accounting, HR and business leaders to resolve issues.
