Job summary

Norfolk Southern Corporation is seeking a Payroll Business Analyst to support reporting, data analysis, account reconciliations, and process improvements within a hybrid work environment in Atlanta, GA. You will partner with Accounting, IT, and other departments to streamline payroll operations and ensure accuracy.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s Degree and 1–2 years of experience (3–5 preferred), with strong MS Excel and data query skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum 1–2 years; 3–5 years preferred in payroll/accounting.
Experience with payroll data, reporting, and reconciliations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the design and manages the implementation of new systems or business processes.
Liaises between Accounting, IT and other client departments.
Reviews day-to-day payroll records, GL reporting, analysis and reconciliation.
Generates reporting and provides analysis for other departments and external entities.
Responds to ad hoc inquiries and data requests as well as internal and external audit requests.
Supports payroll security processes by reviewing, coordinating, and maintaining access controls and user permissions.
Provides support for routine duties and facilitates supplemental payroll processing.
