Job summary

Simmons University is seeking a part-time Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations. This role processes non-exempt payroll, audits and releases payments, and assists the Payroll Manager, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulations.

The position requires professionalism, organization, and strong customer service while collaborating with colleagues and external partners. The role may offer a partial remote schedule and is benefits-eligible.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of relevant payroll administration experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Knowledge of wage and hourly tax regulations at state, federal, and local levels.

Responsibilities

  • Process non-exempt payroll end-to-end in a timely manner.
  • Audit payroll inputs and release payments; assist Payroll Manager as needed.
  • Review time entries, direct deposits, and tax/benefit deductions for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Workday/ADP to ensure proper postings to GL and external partners.

The Accounting Department is seeking a part-time Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations. This role is responsible for processing non-exempt payroll, auditing and releasing payments, and assisting the Payroll Manager as needed, while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations. This position requires a high level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail, along with a strong customer service orientation when working with colleagues across the University and external partners

  • payroll;Process payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting and payroll principles

  • such as:Period Activity Pay Assignments;One-Time selections;Time Entry Approvals;Review list of direct deposit rejects from ADP and assist employees with necessary corrections;Review and submit refund payments received from, ADP, TIAA, various state Unemployment Insurance taxes and Employee to Cashier;Work closely with the student employment team to ensure that students are being appropriately set up and paid in a timely fashion;Run processes to transmit pay results, garnishments and payroll taxes to third party p

The hourly or annual salary range for this position is:

H05$18.80 - $30.48
