Payroll Coordinator/Human Resources

Job Summary

EMCOR Service Fagan seeks a Payroll Coordinator/Human Resources at our Kansas City, KS headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Process bi-weekly payroll, including timesheet collection, data entry, printing, sorting, direct deposits, and check distribution.
  2. Handle payroll withholding taxes and garnishments on various schedules.
  3. Prepare weekly and bi-weekly employee reports for compliance.
  4. Manage annual W-2 reports and distributions.
  5. Perform job cost journal entries and other accounting functions as directed by the CFO.
  6. Maintain general ledger entries and reconcile accounts.
  7. Input employee changes, corrections, and additions.
  8. Maintain professional relationships with employees, vendors, and internal contacts regarding payroll matters.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and share information with authorized personnel.
  10. Support prioritization and issue resolution, ensuring compliance with company policies and protection of PII.
  11. Make informed decisions, prioritize work, document processes, and meet payroll deadlines.
  12. Serve as Company Benefits Administrator.
  13. Administer Company’s Substance Abuse Programs.
  14. Report to the CFO and President.
Position Requirements
  1. Minimum of 2 years experience in payroll or similar roles, preferably with mechanical, construction, or union contractors.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in business preferred.
  3. Knowledge of the construction industry, operations management, and safety practices a plus.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
  5. Effective communication skills with various departments and vendors.
