Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support payroll processing and ensure timely, accurate pay for employees across multiple states. The role maintains records, reviews timekeeping, handles inquiries, and assists with compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and benefit impacts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of hands-on payroll department experience.
• Experience with wage garnishment administration in a multi-state environment, including child support orders, tax levies, and creditor garnishments.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, formulas, audit spreadsheets).
• Familiarity with payroll taxes, deductions and benefit impacts.

Responsibilities

• Administer wage garnishment processes, including child support orders, tax levies, creditor garnishments, calculations, setup, remittance, recordkeeping, and employee inquiries while ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Audit timecards for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Support payroll activities as required.
• Maintain payroll records and employee information.
• Assist with payroll audits and reporting.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
