Job summary

Cologix is seeking a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting team. This role will review and process bi-weekly payroll for US and Canadian subsidiaries, ensuring accurate timecard review, payroll accounting, reconciliations and year-end reporting (W-2s, T4s, RL-1s, 1099s).

You will also manage Canadian payroll requirements, ROEs and the annual vacation rollover true-up, with ad hoc support to the broader Accounting team as needed.

Responsibilities

• Bi-weekly payroll review, payroll accounting and compliance.
• Research and resolve issues; initiate corrective actions and adjustments.
• Coordinates maintenance of the Dayforce payroll system.
• Prepares general ledger transactions timely and accurately.
• Supports the annual 401(k) audit.
• Ensures annual benefits updates are implemented accurately and timely.
• Organizes and maintains sub-ledger transaction files.
• Ensures a timely and accurate close process for areas of responsibility.
• Primary owner of the Payroll inbox responsible for addressing employee inquiries.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and GAAP.
• Takes ownership in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and process improvements for areas of responsibility.
