Payroll Clerk Pay Rate: $21–$25/hour, depending on experience Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll processing and provide responsive service to employees and clients. This role is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, resolving payroll inquiries, maintaining employee records, and performing payroll audits and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle bonus payrolls accurately and on time.
• Review payroll entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Process weekly certified payrolls, identifying and correcting errors prior to submission.
• Enter and release wage garnishments and verify direct deposit information.
• Process employment verifications.
• Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting.
• Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of payroll experience, with intermediate payroll knowledge.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.
