Job Description:

LHH is seeking a skilled Certified Union Payroll Specialist to join our client’s team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position is located in either Brea or Santa Fe Springs, CA, and offers an hourly rate of $30. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing within the construction industry, particularly focusing on union payroll procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Process weekly union payroll accurately and on time.
2. Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
3. Ensure compliance with union regulations and contracts.
4. Handle payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service to employees.
5. Prepare payroll reports for management as needed.
6. Assist with payroll audits and tax filings.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, preferably in the construction industry.
• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of union payroll processes and compliance.
• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
