Job summary

Fairmont New Orleans, part of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Payroll and Labor Management Specialist to manage Accounts Payable and daily cash handling. You will process invoices, reconcile deposits, and maintain strict internal controls and audit readiness.

The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with policies, and coordination with Front Office and other departments to ensure accurate revenue reporting and cash handling. Hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or cash handling roles.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting systems (Birchstreet, Oracle, Evention).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Experience with POS systems, PMS (Opera preferred), and cash handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process vendor invoices with three-way matching.
• Coordinate timely payment processing via check, ACH, or wire transfer.
• Reconcile vendor statements and respond to supplier inquiries.
• Maintain audit-ready records of Accounts Payable transactions.
• Ensure all disbursements are authorized and compliant with controls.
• Prepare and balance daily bank deposits and cash assets.
• Perform daily reconciliation of cash activity across reports.
• Prepare daily and monthly cash reports (General Cashier, Over/Short, Deposit summaries).
• Support internal and external audits with documentation.
