Job summary

Empire Marketing Strategies, Inc. in Blue Ash, OH, seeks a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to own the full payroll cycle and benefit billing for a high-volume, multi-state workforce.

You will audit, reconcile, and improve processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. You will collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance and vendors, manage year-end activities including W-2s and 401(k) contributions, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll.
• Experience with high-volume payroll (1,000+ associates) preferred.
• Experience using Paylocity and HRIS systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements preferred.
• CPP or FPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll process and related benefit billing audits.
• Audit inputs, ensure accuracy of hours, rates, and deductions.
• Lead benefit deductions audits and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payroll reporting for leadership.
• Support year-end activities and 401(k) processes.
