Job summary

Permasteelisa North America is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager in Mendota Heights, MN to oversee end-to-end US and Canada payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will lead a payroll team, optimize workflows using ADP Payroll and SuccessFactors, and manage benefits, wellness, and related programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years payroll/benefits experience.
• 6+ years US/Canada payroll including union payroll.
• Experience owning complex benefit programs and vendor relationships.
• Strong payroll compliance knowledge (US & Canada: tax laws, FLSA, deductions).
• 5-7 years progressive benefit administration/management.
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations (FLSA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, 125, Medicare, Social Security, DOL).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Financial reconciliation of payroll-to-GL; collaborate with Accounting.
• Cross-functional collaboration with HR, HRIS, Finance; MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with US/Canada visa processing.
• Team leadership (5+ years).

Responsibilities

• Manage US & Canadian payroll groups in ADP for 500+ employees; oversee certified payroll.
• Lead, coach and develop payroll team members.
• Liaise between employees and insurance/benefit providers.
• Coordinate all FMLA and disability leave activity.
• Recommend payroll system/process improvements; drive efficiencies.
• Manage open enrollment, HSA/FSA enrollments, 1095C/1094C/ERISA/compliance, tax filings.
• Coordinate Investment Advisory Committee and Benefits Committee; manage external vendors.
