Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is seeking a payroll and HR operations professional to manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and immigration/compliance tasks. You will work with Workday and HR colleagues to ensure accurate records and timely payroll across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Audit the time & attendance for each pay period and process payroll.
• Assist with employee benefits administration, maintain monthly billing statements and process payments for benefits.
• Input data into HRIS system (Workday), monitor wage garnishments, review and process fringe benefits.
• Prepare, balance and distribute payroll funding requests and vendor payments; enter adjustments in system to correct employee records.
• Prepare payroll vouchers and interact with accounting to clear reconciling items.
• Provide input and assistance for payroll projects; maintain documentation of payroll processes and procedures and recommend changes.
• Provide support to employees and managers, responding to inquires through verbal and written communication.
• Respond to employment verifications and unemployment claims.
• Process employee changes in Workday, assist with processing new hires and terminations, auditing and maintaining Workday records.
• Provide transactional support to the department including record retention and reporting requests.
• Support the administration of leave management with employees, vendors and updates to tracking.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on actions.
• Administers immigration program including documentation and placement
• Serves as the departmental compliance SME and ensures activities are compliant.
