Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Payroll Clerk to support the Finance Office by performing clerical, accounting, and payroll functions. The role involves reconciling accounts, maintaining personnel files, and ensuring accurate data entry across payroll databases.

You will assist with new hire paperwork, background checks, and benefits enrollment, and you will work closely with Bookkeeper and Administrator to process payroll, review timecards, and generate reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years related payroll or office experience.
• Detail oriented and accurate in data processing.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with payroll systems.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts and assist with payroll processing.
• Maintain personnel files and updates in payroll databases.
• Process new hires and background checks.
• Enter payroll data into multiple databases and generate attendance reports.
• Prepare payroll for approval and transmit to Paychex.
• Assist with year-end W-2 forms and benefits enrollment.
