Job summary

Skagit Valley Casino Resort is seeking a Payroll Assistant to support accurate timekeeping and payroll operations in a fast-paced casino environment. You will prepare time logs, balance time records, and assist with new hires while maintaining confidential information.

The role requires attention to detail, payroll system experience, and strong communication to help team members and ensure payroll accuracy across bi-weekly cycles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three years’ previous experience in a similar role at a comparable sized operation.
• Two years’ experience in payroll dataset systems at a comparably sized operation.
• Two years’ experience working with time and attendance clocks at a comparably sized operation.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Professional communication skills and a commitment to guest service.
• Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and distributes departmental time logs.
• Receives, balances, collects, verifies and/or enters time and attendance data.
• Receives, verifies, and balances time and attendance on daily, weekly, and bi-weekly cycles.
• Ensures supporting documentation is provided as required.
• Investigates discrepancies or odd circumstances and resolves issues as needed.
• Updates system input for new hires.
• Creates and maintains spreadsheets for balancing and tracking.
• Calculates and balances toke counting hours bi-weekly.
• Processes wage verifications with signed releases.
• Prepares paychecks for distribution and envelopes.
• Maintains filing records for audits.
• Responds to employee questions and provides payroll support.
• Assists Payroll Department with other payroll tasks.
