Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled leader to oversee payroll and time administration across the United States and Canada, ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing and compliance with multi-jurisdictional rules.

You will collaborate with HR, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, IT, and external vendors to optimize processes, expand employee self-service, and drive improvements across the payroll ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
• CPP or PCP certification preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience across multi-state U.S. and/or Canadian payroll.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing payroll teams.
• Advanced knowledge of ADP and Kronos UKG platforms.
• Experience with Workday HCM integrations and HRIS systems.

Job description

• Lead payroll and time administration operations across the United States and Canada
• Manage a team of payroll professionals
• Serve as functional owner for payroll and workforce time management processes
• Ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local requirements
• Serve as primary business lead for ADP payroll systems and Kronos Dimensions / UKG Workforce Management
• Partner with HR, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, IT, and external vendors
• Support manufacturing teams and drive consistent service delivery across North America
• Drive adoption of employee and manager self-service capabilities
• Expand effective use of case management and ticketing solutions
• Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, standardize, and improve processes
• Strengthen operational efficiency, control, and employee satisfaction
• Oversee payroll operations, time and attendance management, system ownership and optimization, employee self-service, ticketing and service delivery, compliance, controls and risk management, reporting, analytics, continuous improvement, team leadership, and collaboration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), or equivalent certification preferred
• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state U.S. and/or Canadian payroll administration
• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing payroll teams
• Advanced knowledge of ADP payroll platforms and Kronos Dimensions / UKG Workforce Management
• Experience with HRIS platforms, ticketing/case-management tools, reporting, and payroll system implementations or enhancements preferred
• Experience with Workday HCM integrations with payroll and workforce management platforms preferred
• Strong knowledge of payroll operations, payroll taxation, wage and hour compliance, timekeeping rules, payroll accounting, internal controls, and year-end activities including W-2, T4, and regulatory reporting support
