PrideStaff Financial is partnering with a premiere manufacturing company in Sacramento to hire a Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll and payables processing in a multi-entity, high-volume environment.

You will handle multi-state payroll for hourly, salaried, and contracted staff, maintain records, and support closing activities. The position offers growth opportunities and the chance to contribute to a growing organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-state payroll experience.
• 3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.
• Proficient with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, UKG.
• Excellent accuracy and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state weekly/bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salaried, and contracted staff.
• Maintain employee records ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage payroll lifecycle changes including new hires, terminations, and benefit adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll reports for month/quarter/year-end, W-2 prep, and internal audits.
• Resolve employee payroll inquiries with timely, professional support.
• Code and process vendor invoices; perform 3-way matching (POs, receipts, invoices).
• Manage weekly payment runs via check, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile accounts payable to the general ledger and assist with closing activities.

The Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all payroll and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting payroll & accounts payables in a multi-entity or high volume environment. Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process Multi-State Weekly/Bi-Weekly Payroll For Hourly, Salaried, & Contracted Staff
• Maintain Employee Records Ensuring Full Compliance With Federal, State, & Local Regulations
• Manage Payroll lifecycle Changes, Covering New Hires, Terminations, Compensation Adjustments, & Benefits
• Reconcile Payroll Reports, For Month/Quarter/Year-End Closing, W-2 Prep, & Internal Audits
• Resolve Employee Payroll Inquiries With Timely & Professional Support
• Code & Process Vendor Invoices in Compliance With Company Policies
• 3-Way Invoice Matching. Purchase Orders, Receipts, & Invoices
• Manage Weekly Payment Runs Via Check, ACH, & Wire Transfers
• Reconcile Accounts Payables to the General Ledger
• Assist With Closing Activities, Including AP Accruals & Reporting
• Assist With Additional Business Needs as Requested

Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• 3+ Years of Multi-State Payroll Experience Coupled With Solid Wage & Hour Laws, & Compliance Requirements
• 3+ Years of Full-Cycle Accounts Payable Experience
• Proficient With Payroll Systems Such As ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, UKG
• Exceptional Accuracy, Organizational Skills, & Attention to Details
• Strong Communication Skills & The Ability to Collaborate Effectively Across Departments
• Demonstrated Ability to Handle Confidential Information With Discretion
• Maintain a High Level of Integrity & a Proactive, Resourceful Approach Committed to Continuous Improvement
• Apply Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills to Manage Multiple Priorities & Meet Tight Deadlines in a Fast-Paced Environment

• Previous Experience Supporting Payroll & AP in a Multi-Entity or High Volume Environment
• Familiarity With 1099 Processing & Year-End AP Reporting
